Why Stefek's?
Stefek's, Auctioneers and Appraisers, regularly provide appraisal services for estate tax, estate planning, charitable contribution, gift tax or insurance purposes. When you retain our appraisal services, rest assured that you are working with qualified appraisers that have completed the necessary courses with the International Society of Appraisers to become accredited. ISA accreditation is earned upon passing a series of exams over a period of years and by demonstrating competency for complete and accurate appraisals. The ISA audits appraiser conduct, ensuring that its members operate with impeccable ethics. Lori Stefek has successfully completed the Core Course in Appraisal Studies, the Fine Arts Course, and the Antiques and Residential Contents Course. She attends continued education courses several times a year to enhance her appraisal skills and capabilities.
Our clients range from fiduciaries, attorneys, CPA's, and estate administrators. Stefek's understands that each situation is unique. We take the necessary steps to customize your appraisal needs. Fees are based on the amount of time and number of experts that are needed.
We have conducted hundreds of appraisals on everything from 17th century to 20th century furniture to fine art to notable collections. Although art, antiques, collectibles and estate auctions are our specialty, we have helped hundreds of clients in appraising residential contents.
Our appraisal reports contain a description of the item, measurements, photo and value (i.e. fair market value, replacement value). Often times there are comparables for items that may be rare or unusual. This way, you know that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure the proper value of your item. We provide you with an appraisal letter attesting to the measures taken in valuing your items. We also adhere to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).
As an added service, anything that you want shipped out of state or to a family member, we can coordinate this for you. We also will liquidate the remaining items and donate anything left over that is useful to charity, leaving the home empty and clean.
If you decide to consign any items to Stefek's for auction, a portion or all of the appraisal fee will be waived.
